The Hubbard Eagles were the 58-36 winner over the McKinley Red Dragons when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hubbard took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of McKinley. Hubbard has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hubbard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javon Greene, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Greene has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kenyen Franklin, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Hubbard's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for McKinley, their win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.
Hubbard will take on Struthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McKinley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mineral Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Mineral Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
