Given Northside Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Concord Academy is ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Concord Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Northside Christian Academy pushed their record up to 17-6 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Concord Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
Northside Christian Academy and Fayetteville Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Fayetteville Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Concord Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hickory Grove Christian at 7:00 p.m. Hickory Grove Christian has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
