CULVER CITY, Calif. -
Bishop Amat (La Puente, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 48-26 win over
Culver City (Calif.).
In the first quarter, the Lancers put up 10 points. Bishop Amat scored on a field goal by
Matthew Zahn and a touchdown pass by
Koa Haynes to
Trevon Sidney.
After taking the lead on a field goal by Zahn in the first quarter, BA was up 24-0 at the half.
The La Puente school grew its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Lancers scored three times in the third, including once on a field goal by Zahn.
Haynes played well for Bishop Amat in the victory. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
When the two teams played each other last season, BA came away with a 31-7 victory.
With the win the La Puente school extended its winning streak to three games. The loss was the third in a row for the Centaurs.
