The Kongiganak Wolverines waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 58-52 win over Chief Paul Memorial. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Kongiganak also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Carson Miller went supernova for Kongiganak, scoring 26 points. Another player making a difference was Maegan Miller, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Chief Paul Memorial still got an impressive performance from Charly Peter, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peter has scored all season. Erica Paul was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Kongiganak pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Chief Paul Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Kongiganak will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chief Paul Memorial at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alaska (Chief Paul Memorial is ranked 29th, while Kongiganak is ranked 11th). As for Chief Paul Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Kongiganak at 6:00 p.m.
