It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Plainview had no problem doing just that  on Friday. They blew past the Thayer Central Titans 51-22. Considering the Pirates have won eight games by more than 23  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Gage Walton had another great game (as  he tends to do), rushing for 147 yards and four  TDs while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 114 receiving yards and a pair of  scores. What's more,  he racked up 48  passing yards, the most he's  had since back in September. Another signal caller making a difference was  Kobe Maertins, who threw for 212 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Plainview was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 225  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 225  rushing yards in three consecutive  contests.
 Despite the loss, Thayer Central still got an impressive performance from   Laken Wiedel, who rushed for 96 yards and one  score, and also threw for 147 yards and a pair of  TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. 88 of  Wiedel's passing yards were hauled in by Murphy Sudbeck, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
Plainview's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Thayer Central,  with the  defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.
 Coming up, Plainview will challenge Dundy County-Stratton on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31  points  every time they've taken the field this season. Thayer Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
