Volleyball Recap: Hiram's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Hiram was the 2-1 winner over Southeast Whitfield County when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders on Tuesday. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jasmarie Belt paced Hiram's offense, picking up four kills. Belt got some help from Zoie Taylor and her seven assists. Taylor also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Victoria Valdivia, racking up two apiece.

Southeast Whitfield County found their leader in sophomore Brielle Caldwell, who had three digs and two blocks. Jocelyn Ortega also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Hiram's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Southeast Whitfield County, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-15 record.

Hiram has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Cartersville on the 16th. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Ridgeland on the 20th.
