The Liberty Hawks pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Stone Ridge Christian at home by a decisive 72-56 margin. Liberty was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Stone Ridge Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Liberty's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Patton, who scored 13 points. The game was Patton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Nolasco, who scored 12 points.
Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Stone Ridge Christian, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Reedley at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. As for Stone Ridge Christian, they will be playing at home against Ripon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Jake Vander Veen and Daijon O?neil.
