Mohawk is a perfect 6-0 against Carey since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Mohawk is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Mohawk is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Hillsdale just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 12-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this matchup were averaging 3.09 runs allowed.
Katie Woodland made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Brickner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Carey ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Buckeye Central, sneaking past 7-6.
Danika Hanna made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Gracie Luhring and Autumn Bouillon did most of the damage at the plate: Luhring went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Bouillon went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Luhring has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Karlie Niederkohr, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run.
Carey's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8. As for Mohawk, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mohawk hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Carey struggles in that department as they've averaged .324. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mohawk got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Carey by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
