On Friday, the Banning Pilots kept a clean sheet against the Narbonne Gauchos. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Gauchos and snuck past 1-0. Even though Banning was hit with a red card (from Juan Pablo Hernandez), the team's aggressive strategy still got them the 'W'.
Banning's one-goal win came courtesy of
Alejandro Oropeza, who's now up to 14 this season.
Banning is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-4-3 record this season. As for Narbonne, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8-4.
Banning will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Santee at 3:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Narbonne, they will head out on the road to face off against Arleta at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Narbonne's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
