Hamilton County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Union County Fightin' Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Hamilton County lost to Lafayette at home by a decisive 58-42 margin.
Meanwhile, Union County pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palatka. While losing is never fun, Union County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Palatka is ranked 158th).
Hamilton County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
Hamilton County took a serious blow against Union County when the teams last played on January 4th, falling 71-30. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hamilton County was down 48-20.
