Adding to the longest winning streak in Capital Area this week, Riverdale Baptist beat Great Mills 42-18,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Maryland School for the Deaf moved up to 23 from 216 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Orioles were able to move up by defeating Options Charter 16-12.
6-foot-1 quarterback Wyatt Karem of Avalon is the league leader in passing yards this season with 373. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Lonnie Hightower. The Riverdale Baptist star has 9 catches for 160 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Perry Street Prep and Riverdale Baptist. The Pride enters the contest ranked 17th in the state, while Bob Shields' team ranks 11th.
Chavez was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Model School for the Deaf. Chavez came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
