The Parkview Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Central 44-40. Parkview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Parkview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklynn Haines, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haines has scored all season. Brooklynn Masten was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Parkview's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Central, their victory ended a 15-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-15.
Parkview will challenge the Zizzers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Plains presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Missouri (the Zizzers are ranked 32nd, while the Vikings are ranked 371st). As for Central, they will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
