The Rockledge Raiders's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eau Gallie Commodores at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Rockledge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Rockledge was able to grind out a solid win over Titusville, taking the game 42-29.
Rockledge can attribute much of their success to Makaiya Watkins, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Jaida Williams-Goins, who scored 15 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Williams-Goins is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games she's played. Jalia Christian was another key contributor, scoring no points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Eau Gallie's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-18 loss at the hands of Palm Bay. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Eau Gallie has scored all season.
Rockledge's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Eau Gallie, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-9.
Rockledge might still be hurting after the 55-34 loss they got from Eau Gallie in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Rockledge, Katelynn Hagy (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
