The Canyon View Jaguars will challenge the Campo Verde Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon View is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Canyon View's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Yuma 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Cason Hagerman, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Yuma off the board. Hagerman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Santoyo and Rolando Valles did most of the damage at the plate: Santoyo scored a run while going 1-for-1, while Valles went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Valles a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Berlan, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Canyon View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yuma struck out nine times.
Meanwhile, Campo Verde fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Higley on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-3. The Coyotes' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Wyatt Rauch made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Canyon View pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Campo Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Canyon View hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Campo Verde struggles in that department as they've averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
