The Marionville Comets can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They blew past Pleasant Hope 72-16 at home. The win was just what Marionville needed coming off of a 75-50 loss in their prior match.
Leading Marionville to victory were Anna Bright and Lucy Newberry. Bright went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 1 assist, while Newberry scored 26 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bright has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dally Pomeroy, who scored six points along with two steals.
Marionville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. As for Pleasant Hope, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marionville will square off against the Bears on Saturday. As for Pleasant Hope, they will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Miller presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in Missouri (the Cardinals are ranked 147th, while the Pirates are ranked 425th).
