Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Stratford Academy's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

Stratford Academy won the last time they faced Mount de Sales Academy, and Frankie Raines Jr did his part to make sure it happened again. The Stratford Academy Eagles came out on top against the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers by a score of 65-54 on Tuesday thanks in part to Raines Jr, who went 13 for 16 on his way to 26 points along with six rebounds and five assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 20 or more in the last five games he's played.

Tyler Stephens was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 12 points and five boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Mount de Sales Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackson Rowley, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Abner Livingston, who posted nine points.

Stratford Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Mount de Sales Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9.

Stratford Academy will head out on the road to square off against Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Stratford Academy comes in on three and Tattnall Square Academy on five. As for Mount de Sales Academy, they will host John Milledge Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mount de Sales Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
