Loch Raven has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Monday. They will face off against the Mercy Magic at 5:45 p.m. Hopefully Loch Raven focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Loch Raven, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Pikesville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Loch Raven in their matchups with Pikesville: they've now lost nine in a row.
Loch Raven's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Meona Boykin, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Maya Gordon who scored 6 points along with 13 rebounds and 7 steals.
Meanwhile, Mercy had just enough and edged Southeast Raleigh out 35-33 on Friday. The victory was just what Mercy needed coming off of a 75-28 defeat in their prior match.
Loch Raven's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mercy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Loch Raven couldn't quite finish off Mercy in their previous meeting back in December of 2019 and fell 47-45. Can Loch Raven avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
