Ruidoso has gone a perfect 3-0 against Mesilla Valley Christian School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the SonBlazers at 12:00 p.m. Ruidoso is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Ruidoso will head out to face Mesilla Valley Christian School after giving up their first home loss of the season on Thursday. The Warriors fell 4-0 to Robertson. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly four runs.
Jaya Trujillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alexx Chavez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Baylor Pritchett was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, Mesilla Valley Christian School entered their game against Lordsburg on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The SonBlazers fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 14-12. While the SonBlazers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 5-0 in the first period.
Megan Baker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jacie Caldwell, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
This is the second loss in a row for Ruidoso and nudges their season record down to 16-4. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 8-3.
Ruidoso beat Mesilla Valley Christian School 11-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
