Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lead-Deadwood). They rang in the new year with a 71-62 victory over the Kadoka Kougars on Saturday. For the Golddiggers, this counts as revenge for the 59-52 win the Kougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Kadoka still got an impressive performance from Kole Hermann, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Those 25 points gave Hermann a new career-high. Jared Nemecek was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points.

Lead-Deadwood's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Kadoka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Lead-Deadwood will face off against Oelrichs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kadoka, they will take on White River at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kadoka is facing White River at the right time seeing as White River is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
