SANDY, Utah -
Alta (Sandy, Utah) took an early lead against Allentown (N.J.) and held on for a 44-7 victory on Saturday.
The Hawks scored six points in the first quarter. Alta scored on a touchdown pass by
Chipper Lucero to
Nate Teahan.
After taking the lead on a Lucero touchdown pass to Teahan in the first quarter, the Sandy school led 28-0 at the half.
The Hawks grew their lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. Alta's lone score in the quarter came on a two-point conversion.
Allentown's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Daivone Thomas in the fourth quarter.
The loss comes after Allentown defeated Steinert 28-7 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Sandy school, which was coming off a 41-28 defeat at the hands of Timpview in its previous game.
