Lawrence Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the North Central Panthers with a sharp 53-32 win on Friday. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Lawrence Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laila Abdurraqib led the charge by going 6-for-14 on her way to 14 points along with five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Aniyah Mckenzie, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Lawrence Central, bringing their record for this year to 22-1. As for North Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.

Lawrence Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 47-42 defeat against Lawrence North on the 8th. North Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
