The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Mountlake Terrace Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Washington (Edmonds-Woodway is ranked 119th, while Mountlake Terrace is ranked 139th).
After a string of five wins, Edmonds-Woodway's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of Monroe. Edmonds-Woodway was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace came up short against Inglemoor on Friday and fell 27-18.
The losing side was boosted by Zaveon Jones, who rushed for 261 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 5-2.
Everything went Edmonds-Woodway's way against Mountlake Terrace when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as Edmonds-Woodway made off with a 33-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edmonds-Woodway since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
