Montesano is leaving town to face Ridgefield after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Montesano was dealt a 35-7 defeat at the hands of La Center on Friday. The Bulldogs were down 28-0 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Prairie, posting a 48-7 victory on the road. The win was some much needed relief for the Spudders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Landon Debeaumont had a dynamite game for Ridgefield, throwing for 242 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance gave him a new career- in total yards. Cly Stephens was another key passer, rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Ridgefield's defense and their three sacks. Cohen Draper was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up twohimself.
