The Red Springs Red Devils will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Midway Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Red Springs will be strutting in after a win while Midway will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Red Springs beat Fairmont 16-6.
It was another big night for Jakelsin Mack, who rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Taquan (TJ) Ellerbe did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 113 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Midway unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 54-0 loss at the hands of Clinton. The low total for Midway limited their streak of high-flying scores to seven in a row.
Red Springs' victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Red Springs has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 209.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Midway struggles in that department as they've been averaging 184.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
