Reagan County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Sterling City Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Reagan County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Reagan County won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Christoval, falling 44-10. Reagan County has not had much luck with Christoval recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sterling City can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Sonora with points to spare, taking the game 43-25. The win was just what Sterling City needed coming off of a 42-13 loss in their prior match.
Reagan County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Sterling City, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.
Reagan County came up short against Sterling City in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 29-22. Can Reagan County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
