Thomasville took a serious blow against Dougherty on Tuesday, falling 57-30. Thomasville's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Thomasville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dallas Hill. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hill pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Dougherty was led to victory by Jatiana Chambers and Grace p. Smith. Chambers scored 13 points along with eight assists and four steals, while Smith dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Chambers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Amiyah Jackson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Thomasville has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Dougherty, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Thomasville will be playing in front of their home fans against Crisp County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crisp County is coming into the contest with eight straight defeats on the road, meaning Thomasville will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Dougherty, they will challenge Carver at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dougherty is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
