The Sherando Warriors will square off against the James Wood Colonels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sherando's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so James Wood's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Two weeks ago, Sherando made easy work of Warren County and carried off a 14-1 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Lilian Wray was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other pitching news, Jessie Kaiser looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Madalyn Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Elleana Shutts was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Sherando always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, James Wood was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They fell just short of Brentsville District by a score of 4-2.
Sherando's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for James Wood, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Sherando beat James Wood 9-5 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
