Empire have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They will take on Central at 7:30 PM. Empire don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Empire strolled past Wilson with points to spare last Thursday, taking the matchup 28-12. Empire found their leader in underclassman sophomore Mitchell Monteith, who picked up 156 yards on the ground and threw 2 TDs.
Meanwhile, Central took a serious blow against Waurika, falling 0-52. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Empire's win lifted them to 4-4 while Central's defeat dropped them down to 2-5. We'll see if Empire can repeat their recent success or if Central bounce back and reverse their fortune.
