The Aspen Skiers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Florence Huskies at 5:30 p.m. on December 21st. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Aspen ultimately got the result they hoped for last Saturday. They secured a 58-53 W over Forge Christian.
Aspen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tommy Franceschi, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jack Berro, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Florence came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 56-46 victory over Monte Vista.
Gage Goodall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Dudley, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Aspen's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Florence, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
