Alexandria's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyshawn Duncan, who scored eight points along with three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Johnson, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Alexandria's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-9. As for St. Mary, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Alexandria will head out on the road to square off against the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ruston has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 931 points over their last 13 contests. As for St. Mary, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Montgomery is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
