Enloe and Sanderson are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Enloe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Enloe and Athens Drive had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Eagles came out on top against the Jaguars by a score of 9-5 last Thursday. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Jaguars on their field since April 4, 2022.

Avery Modlin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Jaycey Morrrison and Kylan Wright did most of the damage at the plate: Morrrison went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles, while Wright scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Those three RBI gave Morrrison a new career-high. Emily Peters also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Sanderson was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-2 to Broughton. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Capitals since last Thursday.
Sanderson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephanie Munt, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Another was Sloane Thorpe, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Enloe pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Sanderson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
Sanderson's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Enloe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Sanderson, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Enloe keep running through batters, or will the Spartans buck the trend?
Enloe took their victory against Sanderson when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
