South Effingham is 1-8 against Glynn Academy since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. South Effingham suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 83-53 defeat at the hands of Evans. South Effingham has not had much luck with Evans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Corbin McGuire, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Will Harlin, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, even though Effingham County scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, Glynn Academy still came out on top. Glynn Academy took their match against Effingham County 69-59. The win made it back-to-back wins for Glynn Academy.
South Effingham's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Glynn Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
South Effingham came up short against Glynn Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 53-48. Can South Effingham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
