Round Mountain and Beatty are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Round Mountain Knights will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Beatty Hornets at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Round Mountain's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Beatty has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Last Wednesday, it was close, but Round Mountain sidestepped Tonopah for a 43-40 victory.
Keiran Swafford was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with two steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Marquez Zamora, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-21, which was the final score in Beatty's tilt against Spring Mountain on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beatty in their matchups with Spring Mountain: they've now lost three in a row.
Round Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Beatty, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Round Mountain against Beatty in their previous matchup two weeks ago as the squad secured a 54-26 win. Does Round Mountain have another victory up their sleeve, or will Beatty turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
