The Henry County Patriots will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Dickson County Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Henry County is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dickson County in Tennessee (Henry County is ranked 148th, while Dickson County is ranked 322nd).
Henry County pushed their score all the way to 57 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of McKenzie by a score of 59-57. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (56), Henry County still had to take the loss.
Dickson County suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Clarksville, falling 65-33. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dickson County in their matchups with Clarksville: they've now lost seven in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jenna Saine, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Keely Webb was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Henry County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Dickson County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Henry County came up short against Dickson County when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 76-68. Can Henry County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
