The Northeast Vikings had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Belaire by a score of 31-19. That's another feather in the cap for Northeast, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Northeast can attribute much of their success to Tyvia Davis, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Amari Lyons was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight assists.
Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Belaire, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Northeast and Central Private will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Belaire will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mentorship Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
