The Frontier Cougars fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Madonna Blue Dons on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Blue Dons. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Snyder, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Jacob Bowersock was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Madonna was led to victory by Chase Littleton and Luca Muzzi. Littleton scored 16 points, while Muzzi scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Andre Crossland, who scored 11 points.
Frontier now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Madonna, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Frontier will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Bridgeport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Monday. Madonna will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Dragons on January 31st. Cameron is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
