The Douglas County Tigers can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They managed a 51-46 victory over Paulding County. The victory was just what Douglas County needed coming off of a 68-41 defeat in their prior match.
Douglas County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Oddyssey Murray, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charla Young, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Alexus Wilson and Hope Johnson certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Wilson scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.
Douglas County's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Paulding County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas County will take on East Paulding at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Paulding is coming into the contest with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Douglas County will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Paulding County, they and New Manchester will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. New Manchester has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 493 points over their last eight matchups.
