Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brendan Whitney led the charge by scoring ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Barna, who scored 14 points.
St. John Lutheran lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jeremiah Furey, who scored nine points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Furey grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Bryce Disimile, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
St. John Lutheran struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for St. John Lutheran, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and Florida Prep will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Florida Prep is ranked 793rd, while Pineapple Cove Classical Academy is ranked 781st). As for St. John Lutheran, they will be playing at home against Hart 2 Hart Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Hart 2 Hart Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Thursday.
