Waldron is 9-1 against Tekonsha since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Waldron Spartans will head out on the road to take on the Tekonsha Indians at 6:30 p.m. Waldron is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
Waldron suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 43-23 loss at the hands of Hillsdale Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Waldron has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Tekonsha's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 52-26 loss at the hands of Jackson Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Tekonsha has suffered against Jackson Christian since January 22, 2018.
The losing side was boosted by Reagan Henry, who scored nine points along with ten steals and eight rebounds. That was a full 34.6% of Tekonsha's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Addison Griffith was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Waldron's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Tekonsha, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Waldron against Tekonsha in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 48-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waldron since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
