The Tabiona Tigers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Tintic on the road to the tune of 87-52. Tabiona has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 30 points or more this season.
Tabiona got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Easton Peterson out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Peterson posted eight or more assists. Chance Lazenby was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Tintic saw an underclassman step up: Haygen Jameson dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Ward, who scored six points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
The victory was the ninth in a row for Tabiona, bringing their record for this year to 13-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Tintic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.
Tabiona will be playing in front of their home fans against the Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (North Summit is ranked 71st, while the Tigers are ranked 49th). As for Tintic, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wendover is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.
