The Lone Star Rangers will challenge the Aledo Bearcats at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Aledo took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lone Star, who comes in off a win.
Lone Star not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2025 (when they won 12-0). They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Sherman. The Rangers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Connor McNicoll looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

At the plate, John Madden and Austin Basile did most of the damage at the plate: Madden went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Basile went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two doubles gave Madden a new career-high. Brayden Harlan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Lone Star always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sherman only posted an OBP of .385.
Aledo couldn't beat Timber Creek on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Bearcats fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 7-6. The Bearcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Connor Whitmire made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. He also scored a run, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kayler Mazon, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Lone Star now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Aledo, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Lone Star came out on top in a nail-biter against Aledo in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
