The Immaculate Mustangs were the 61-35 winner over the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Immaculate took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Immaculate just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Immaculate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendra Foy, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Callie Miller was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kolbe-Cathedral to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rachel Cherrington, who scored 13 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Amia Campbell, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Immaculate's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
Immaculate will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Brookfield is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Kolbe-Cathedral, they will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pomperaug will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
