This season hasn't been kind to the Mountain Area Christian Academy Lions, who are still winless after their 18th matchup. They suffered a tough 79-55 loss at the hands of Friendship Christian on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Friendship Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Markov out in front who scored 21 points along with five assists. Kevin Morozov was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Mountain Area Christian Academy's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Friendship Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Area Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. North Georgia Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Georgia (the Knights are ranked 267th, while the Lions are ranked 585th). As for Friendship Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Blue Knights at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Georgia Force Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully the Spartans like a good challenge.
