Football Recap: Monte Vista Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Monte Vista's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 22-14 victory over the Coastal Academy Stingrays. The Monarchs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Stingrays, too.

Monte Vista pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.2 points over those games. As for Coastal Academy, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will venture away from home to take on El Capitan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Monarchs 12.8, the Vaqueros 11.5) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Coastal Academy, they will head out to square off against Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
