After flying high against Erie First Christian Academy last Friday, the Fairview Tigers came back down to earth. Fairview took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mercyhurst Prep on Tuesday. Fairview was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mercyhurst Prep apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Mercyhurst Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddox Brzuz, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Craig Buckner was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Mercyhurst Prep, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-7.
Fairview will look to defend their home court on Friday against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. Mercyhurst Prep will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Northwestern is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
