Alexandria City hasn't had much luck against Lake Braddock recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Alexandria City will head out on the road to challenge Lake Braddock at 6:30 p.m. Alexandria City has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Alexandria City easily dispatched Centreville on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Alexandria City fell just short of West Potomac by a score of 18-16 on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (13), the Titans still had to take the loss.

Paula Nunez led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Addie Tuttle also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Nunez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Alexandria City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Braddock). They never let Woodson get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Friday. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Mac Verdejo was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, Lake Braddock got a massive performance out of Radha Samuel, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5. With that strong performance, Samuel is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Addison Forde, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lake Braddock's record is now 4-2. As for Alexandria City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Alexandria City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. However, it's not like Lake Braddock struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Alexandria City might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Lake Braddock in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Alexandria City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
