It was a good run, but the Greenwood Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 62-41 loss at the hands of Westside. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenwood has scored all season.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cj Terrell, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Brooks, who scored 13 points.
Westside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua Williams led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Kmajay Jenkins was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Westside, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.
Greenwood will head out on the road to challenge Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 contests -- so hopefully Greenwood likes a good challenge. As for Westside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Easley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Westside likes a good challenge.
