The Sidwell Friends Quakers are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Bishop Ireton Cardinals. Sidwell Friends blew past the Cardinals 70-47. Sidwell Friends has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sidwell Friends to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendall Dudley, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dixon, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bishop Ireton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nyla Brooks. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Theresa Hagans Jr., who scored seven points.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Sidwell Friends, bringing their record for this year to 13-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Bishop Ireton, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

Varsity Opponent comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
