The Cromwell Cardinals can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 70-31 victory over Cherry. Given Cromwell's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Cherry is ranked 311th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Isabella Anderson was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emaleigh Olesiak, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Cromwell has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Cherry, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cromwell will challenge Pine River-Backus at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cromwell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday. As for Cherry, they will head out on the road to challenge Nashwauk-Keewatin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
