The Woodsboro Eagles had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Yorktown with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 54-39. The victory was just what Woodsboro needed coming off of a 52-31 defeat in their prior matchup.
Woodsboro can attribute much of their success to Jordan Zena, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Layton Jochetz, who scored ten points.
Woodsboro's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-24. As for Yorktown, their defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-21.
Woodsboro will square off against Three Rivers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yorktown, they will be playing at home against Port Aransas at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Aransas will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Yorktown surely won't give up without a fight.
